Blaine Elementary School

James G. Blaine Elementary School (2016)
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
Education, Academics

Blaine Elementary School(currently known as Blaine Academics Plus) is a prototype copy of Perilnorth Middle School, which was a project I had done earlier. The gym, cafeteria, auditorium, and the front building have a complete similarity to the middle school, which is only streets North of the possible new Blaine Elementary. The difference would be the rear 'science' hall is shorter than the middle school. The first level of the science wing is not science rooms, but has preschool-kindergarten age rooms, for safe exit reasons. The design of the school is another difference, such as Blaine not having a metal roof, but arch's instead.

This is the render of the playground and from the back of the gym/auditorium building(left), and also the primary/science wing building(right). Enclosed with the playground is the asphalt pavement with the basketball hoops and also a yet clear space.

This is just a more Low Resolute image.

The Bus line would be on the North end of the building. This would vary for any reason, but until so, I decided to place the line next to the front entrance. The blue shader is the same height as one floor of the building.

360 degree video of the building. Try and watch this, and the one for Perilnorth Middle, to tell the similarity of the two buildings.

The directory of the school building does relate to Perilnorth Middle, as well. Try and view this and the directory of the middle school to tell the similarity. Remember, Because this is an elementary, there are noticeable differences.

This is the school site plan. North 31st Street would be a mistake, but it's not. Stanley Street would have to be razed to make way for space. There are many alternatives to avoid this idea. In general though, Blaine Elementary School is just a ideal pair with the Perilnorth Middle School.

Gryffindor Common Room

School Project Adv. Texture & Lighting_ Art Institute of Atlanta (2016)
Gryffindor Common Room_ Harry Potter Series setting
Setting: Hogwarts School, Highlands of Scotland, U.K.
Classwork, Book Series, Mythological

I decided to post something abnormal. I never had time to design random buildings, and any other usual ideas. I had a long-term online class assignment from Adv. Texturing and Lighting, which was to design a realistic looking setting of a scene from a book. I knew no other books but Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and the Bible. The books that I did know didn't have interesting settings. I decided to work on something not that big a deal, which was a random choice of the common room of the Gryffindor House of Harry Potter.
This is one of the hardest work I put forth for a class. This is also one of the projects I used to make the scene via Maya Autodesk.
Because I admired my effort on the project, I decided to count this as one of my unofficial building designs. This is also one of my few interior designs. This is also the first pseudo art renderings to not be so false, since this is based off the Harry Potter Books and the Movies as well.

This image above this paragraph, and the two images below are just images I took, by mental ray, as I progressed through the texturing stage. I made changes from these pictures and the final picture on the very top of the post.

The picture above is the ambient occlusion of the scene. It took me a while to find a way to show the image with just this pass.

The picture above is the z-depth of the scene. It also took me a while to show this pass, as well. I also have the sunlight removed on this image.

The picture above is the sunlight ONLY of the scene. This was also one of the scenes that I was required to make to composite this, and many other one-pass scenes, into a multi-pass image.

Earlier image with one plain skinless mia texture. Before anyone says anything, Yes, the lighting is awful, the sunlight is absent, but understand that this is for a time-limited class. The picture below also shows the original window, and also the size of the fireplace. You can tell, I didn't start off the way I finished.

This is a Maya un-rendered image of the design. This is later on in the final render stage.

This was what I was suppose to compose. It's not like the common room I designed, but this image was what I mostly followed.

Publix at Mercer

Publix Supermarket_ Mercer University (2016)
Macon, Georgia, U.S.A.
Commercial, Grocery, Pharmacy

For the projects going on with Mercer University, I decided to pretend designing a Publix Supermarket across Interstate 75 from Mercer University. The reason why across the highway, well for a few reasons; 1. Great location(probably not for real since places are currently there), 2. If a local grocery store opened on campus, and later on, Publix opens on campus, more likely it would interfere with the local store which was there first, 3. It's funny that the Mercer campus, herself, is having this nice appearance, but once you go across I-75 (going west), you see these swamps, vacant homes, and shattered lots, 4. The location was great for me trying something new, like a store over a parking deck....which was what I did.
About the structure, The grocery store is on the second level while the parking deck is on the first. The road elevates going west, allowing the pedestrian entrance to be on the second level, and the rear, and only, entrance to the bottom parking deck on the first level. The windows, on the front of the store, are just an outside view from inside the store. I also partially gated the front side, and the pedestrian walkways as an intermediate idea that Mercer has done throughout their campus, which includes the Publix at Mercer sign (at the bottom left).
Note, This wouldn't have to be Publix, but a small grocery store in general. This could just add another option especially for students living on Mercer campus, or those living in the neighborhood.

This is a Thea Render view of the similar scene from the top picture.

This is a view from the bottom part of the store. You can also see windows that allow you to see through the parking deck.

This is the second level pedestrian entrance. Also, I thought of a possible ice cream shop. I used brand Pinkberry as an example, there can be other options (including SunTrust Bank which is Publix's regular recessive tenant.), but I just placed in Pinkberry since it's new in town. (However, Even though their ice creams are delicious (to my opinion), they can be pricey)

Publix entrance from the parking deck. Now this can vary, if this were a real project. Once you enter, all you have to do is take stairs, escalator, or elevator to the second level, and you'll be in the pedestrian entrance foyer.

This is a 360 degree video of the building. I thought of doing a front, back, left, and right JPEG image but there were specific parts that needed to be seen such as the details of the pedestrian entrance.

This is a directory of the store. This should be clear to anyone who still doesn't understand the store structure. Please do note, Publix is commonly arbitrary with their store designs. Some other brands, such as Target do the same, but Publix is free-spirited when it comes to their store structure. For example, in Atlantic Station(Atlanta, Georgia), the Publix is about the size of only two New York apartments. Another example, The Publix at Perimeter in Sandy Springs, Georgia, has a vertical store structure, and is pretty small compared to an average grocery store(but large to the Atlantic Station store). Many Publix designs, and structures, don't have the horizontal, football field size, and walk-in, walk-around, and walk-out entrances, and new  structure idea's interest me enough to participate in it.

My apologize for not informing this on the map, but Mercer University is East of the intestate in this picture, where you see the ramps.
Relating Facts, Where I designed a Best Buy, which is literally across this interstate, but on the other side of Mercer University Drive, they are planning restaurant/tenant spaces and a hotel on that very site.

This is an un-rendered Publix Comedy video that I did in Maya software, back in 2014.
THIS DOESN'T RELATE TO THE BUILDING, but to the brand logo.

Perilnorth Middle School

Perilnorth Middle School (2015)
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
Educational, School

This new school would sit on the current location of the current Strawberry Mansion Middle/High School. The old building would be imploded and the new building reconstructed from scratch. The middle school is a three level middle school, that carries each grade level. The exterior color is purple, but the school color could vary. I also placed a fountain in the middle of the diagonal turn lane, and also a more structured parking lot with a more fresh environment. This could feed into the Strawberry Mansion High school, which I redesigned down the street. So, Instead of being a middle and a high school, clumped together and taking up one space, the middle school has the land all to itself.

The picture above, and the pictures below are four renders of the building. This is the show the more realistic views of the school.

This huge asphalt spot in the middle is actually where the dumpster would be located in the picture above. The building to the left in that picture is the theater which sits on top of the gym which takes up two floors of the building.

The picture above shows the academic and the science wing. First level carries the 6th grade, Second level would carry the 7th grade, and Third would carry the 8th level, unless the system functions otherwise.

This is a 360 degree turn video. Watch and Enjoy the 3-Dimensional view.

This is the inside original directory of where everything is located. The gray areas indicate that the area takes up both the first and second floor. There are many great advantages on designing the school, with it having it's own campus.

Perilnorth Middle school is known for it being able to have issues, but still some student can make it, some can't. But, Remember, The school design may have an impact on students. The new campus is just a new environment and the erase of the previous one.

Early at 8am

Early at 8 a.m. (2015)
setting_fictional location
Film, Sequence Animation

Meet Michelle, She's a young teenager who's depressed most of the time, especially the stressful mornings that she gets up, and knows she has to deal with work, school, or any obstacles that day, and she's not really stable, knowing that her room is a mess and liquor is in the hallway etc. Also, Her boyfriend was just in bed with her last night but he had to get up early and leave, which could be told by the open sheets as you see her bedroom in the opening scene.
About the film, I designed everything using SketchUp, Photoshop, Gimp, and After Effects. I also used YouTube as my sound library. I did not want anything professional, but something that looked close enough to a cartoon. This is also one of my rarest motion cartoons with 2D Animation skills. The film is simple and only 50 seconds.

Michelle's halfway turnaround consist of front, side, and also three-quarter view.

This is the bedroom and just photo's without extra materials and objects. The mac was barely shown in the scene where Michelle leaves her room, and in the picture below, the busted cabinet is never shown. Also, The covers were not added if you can see the bed, with just the mattress.

The kitchen is just a simple designed kitchen.  I designed this kitchen in a bit of a disrepair on purpose to show that it's hardly ever taken care of, even though it's just been renovated.(Personal info: The way this kitchen is set up, such as the refrigerator and the stove, is almost similar to how my dad's kitchen looks).

This is the floor plans and scene plans for the film. Again, I wanted to make this film as simple as possible. The red dot shows Michelle, and the gray camera symbol stands for where the camera is located.

This picture shows what the two miss doing and the film show's what they're going through now.....well at least, what Michelle goes through every morning after 8 a.m.

Strawberry Mansion High School

Strawberry Mansion High School (2015)
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
Education, Futurism

For many who live in the area, Most would know Strawberry Mansion High School. I've seen footages of the school, and also Google Maps images as well. The current Strawberry Mansion High was one of the most dangerous schools in America. The school turned over four principals in four years, before the current principal, Linda Cliatt-Wayman, brought stability after leaving Superintendent of High Schools position. This was due to the fact that three high schools merged in Strawberry Mansion which left Wayman to make a tough decision. Well, of course, She removed the 'dangerous' title from the school, and the school is still up in running as for now.
I designed a new Strawberry Mansion High School which is located right down the street from the current location. Here is the 'abnormality', Since it was called Strawberry Mansion High, I decided to structure the focal building in the form of a strawberry; The windows make the seeds, The top portion is any color of the hue of red, the roof has the green metal leaves coming out, and also the shape is like the shape of a strawberry. The seven story building also has the two level wing which has a three level cafeteria attached to it. The gymnasium is at the other end of the building which has its own entrance from the front. The low amount of acres and space would be the reason to design the entire high school over one level.

This is the front of the school in this Thea Render above. The parking lot is visible including the ramp to the parking deck on the left (the parking deck is not shown).

This is the main entrance to the school. If a person were standing in this picture, you could easily tell that this is a pretty large facility. Once, you enter in the front doors, there are stairs and a ramp that elevates you few meters higher.

The gymnasium is on the left-hand side, and the right shows the southeast entrance to the school building.

This is the rear of the building. The rear entrance, and the three level circular cafeteria, are shown. The strawberry is so large that in all of these pictures.

This is a closed night-time scene.

This picture is a Birds-Eye view of the school. The strawberry's image is easily seen with the leafs and building design. Also the park surrounding it is easily seen.

This is a 270 degree view of the school. This is to show a clear point of how the building looks around from the exterior.

There are NO details in these plans. These are a directory, or an idea of how the inside is structured. The top picture shows the South wing, and the bottom shows the Strawberry. Interesting part of the Strawberry is that the round auditorium is on the two top floors of the building.

This is an Earth Ariel view of the school. The southeast field would be for future use.

So, The current high school is located on Ridge Avenue, which would relocate from there to Dauphin Street and 27th Street. The current school is combined with the Middle School, and L.P. Hill School (which is closed). A great purpose would also be to give the High School its own facility.

Keep up the good work, Malaysia and Rezzaq. I designed this cartoon-like image of the new school. I drew two characters similar to 2012 Freshmen students, Malaysia and Rezzaq. These were two of the students from Diane Sawyers 'Inside Strawberry Mansion High School' footage.

Here is the link to the footage.

So What? Now What? Well, I just hope that SMHS remains in stable function, and the school I designed was just to bring artistry, especially since most schools in the neighborhood are aged.
The Knights finally received a Strawberry.
