Keep Going Skating Rink

Keep Going Skating Rink & Arcade (2015)
Macon, Georgia, U.S.A.
Commercial, Amusement, Skating, Arcade

Keep Going Skating Rink, currently named Olympia Skate Center, is a skating rink in West Macon. I used the color blue most of the time for this building and styled it with the more nice appearance to the bricks. This would take the place of the current skate center. I also decided to pull a twist to the main photograph above. It looks like someone is watching it while getting themselves relaxed and listening to some 80's band. The project was untitled until the building was done being designed. I, then, called it 'Keep Going' as a title similar to 'Moving Forward' from Disney. You have to keep going when you skate, am I correct? or else you'll fall. KG may look very appealing, but like the current building, it's just a warehouse with an exterior coat. The parking lot will remain, but expand. The only real difference is that this skating rink is probably bigger and the arcade has it's own entrance for those who are just in for the video games and not skating, like Game X, or something like that. But really, Keep Going is just a Fun Center really, nothing new or impressive when it comes to the business (which isn't real anyway).

This is a Thea Render of the building. This is just in case you didn't like the main picture. I had designed the entire lot just so I can easily make a set of what the view would look like. I snapped a Earth view from Google Maps and scaled it approximate and designed everything where they would be.

Remember when I mentioned the appearance of the building as just a coat? All you have to do is look at the back, or above for that matter, and you will know that the building is just a warehouse. The exterior facade on the front, left, and right, just disguise the building as though it's an upgraded facility. Church's normally use this method to try and make their buildings look fancier and not like some factory. I also forgot to mention, The skating rink does have windows.

This is the floor plan of Keep Going Skating Rink. It may vary, but as sure as I can be, This is how the building would look. The rink, herself, would be this cornered space with a large bay where the people skate with the disco ball hanging on the top. Because of the arcade having it's own entrance, I placed the skate shoe check at the main entrance so you can get your skate shoes when you pay to skate and not in the building where you have access to the skating rink and arcade zone. There is also a Snack Bar at the arcade zone as well.

Now, The pictures above are just the history photo's of Olympia Skate Center since 2007. I, myself, can remember my experience at Olympia. I was 8 years old and I was attending some summer program and we had a field trip there back in 2003. Now, At the time, I don't remember any Ozone, I don't know really, but I did suck at skating, but eventually learned, but completely forgot. I mostly played arcade games while people were skating and going in a circle.
Then, In 2009, My cousin had a birthday party and Not only was I NOT much a skater (due to recent poor skating experience at another party), but I lacked fun and amusement that I used to have as a kid. So, I just played skee ball and other arcade games. I can tell things changed when the building was redone, though. The image that was once green has become red and yellow all over.......
now I have created blue.

So, There you have it. KeepGoing just kept me going and imagining.
