Sierra

Sierra (2014)
Macon, Georgia, U.S.A.
Commercial, Office, Tenant Space, Plaza

Sierra is a 10 story office building that just holds tenants. Despite the fact of it's style and it being a skyscraper, Holding tenant space is really all it does. I decided to give it the partially convex shape. This building would replace the old Tubman African American Museum and several more buildings that are occupied. The better and the more impressive the office space, The more that it can be found attractive. So, I decided to make this very simple. The first floor is where management and the building resources are, but from the second floor onward, Everything would be vacant until occupied by tenants. The only obstacles that would fill floors two through ten are the restrooms, the elevators and stairs, and also the janitors storage. Everything else would become the responsibility of the tenants. Adjacent to the building is a double deck where cars would park. There is currently a parking lot sitting in front of where the deck would be just incase it's filled up. If this building were to exist, it may become the top five tallest buildings in Macon. The building next to the parking deck which opposes the Sierra, would still remain up. I did this building mostly in dark grey, which is close to black, so the building would stand out more. The black color, to my opinion, shows the building's glamour.

The top three pictures are renderings of the Sierra. The image and the look stands out and grabs peoples attention. Even though it's just a plaza, it's looked at as more of a paradise. The bottom two photo's, you can also see the parking decks.

The side's page of Sierra. The front is facing the North, and the back is facing the South.

The top two pictures above are Sierra's floor plans. The first floor is where the administration and conference rooms are. It also homes the front desk and the main storage. The second floor on through the tenth is the exact same floor plans where it's labeled 'Levels 2-10'. The red lining where it says Level 10 only show's that Level 10 has a stairway to the buildings roof. The burgundy lining on the right shows the future additional exit that would become shortcut to the parking deck if needed. There are two stairways throughout the entire building, and there are five elevators. Three of the main lobby and two more of the left just as a short trip. The two stairways are also wide to allow less limited traffic.

Also note that Sierra faces where I had designed 'Walnut Park'. This building would sit off Walnut Street and Martin Luther King Blvd. A building style similar to this would be The First Data in South Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Sony Store_Downtown Macon

Sony Store/471 Studio Lofts (2014)
Macon, Georgia, U.S.A.
Commercial, Retail, Electronics, Renovation, Studio Space

Sony Store, It's not a new prototype. There are Sony Retail stores similar to Apple Stores and/or Microsoft Stores that you see in malls etc. I had an idea to design a new Sony Store, and since this was just an electronic retail company, I decided to place it in an already made, but newly renovated, building. I chose downtown because I believe that the city of Macon can become more modernized or upgraded, but not too much. There is an existing building among 471-477 Third Street (which sits in front of renovated Dannenberg Lofts). I decided to take that enormous space and renovated into a Sony Store, using the space next to it as a front entrance towards 471 Studio Lofts, A studio-office rental level which sits above the Sony Store. I originally planned on placing the Sony store in this Mercer-owned building on Martin Luther King Boulevard in front of the 'Capricorn' Building (where Nicolae Trifuarch) designed this upcoming Music Amphitheater, however, the building looked as though it was a perfect attraction so I decided to leave it alone. It took almost an hour to find an existing building in Downtown Macon, until I went to the space on Third Street near Prince and Dunlap Park and decided to take a stab at it.
When I say this is the Sony Store, I mean the brand Sony. Therefore, I'm talking about PS4's, Sony Gadgets, Sony Animated Pictures, and also the cities newest Downtown electronic store.
Also note, I did the inside as well. I originally planned to just design the inside or give the inside more attention then the outside, but when I was near the current space on Third Street, I decided to just design a renovated version of the Front and the Left half of the exterior building. I did NOT, on the other hand, place any products in the store. I just placed televisions, lighting, and the large screen (that somewhat Microsoft store has). The point is that since most of the outside has already existed but just refurbished, I decided to just do the interior, too.
This is the second project I published on Ammons Renderings where I did the inside of a building. Chicago Bowling Alley 'People Eating Salt' being the first.

Here is the Thea Rendering of both the exterior and interior of the Sony Store. The glass-like translucent material inside does make the store look more appealing, and the lighting as well. This was the first shot I published of an inside view with Thea Rendering. Like I put out before, This is just an empty view of it, it has no products.

The above two pictures are just the outside and the inside views of parts of the building. If you still don't get it, then I published an X-Ray portrait below. The 471 Studio Loft could vary easily, so I left it for now. But, As you can see, It's a little easier to get the message on what the Sony store was to look like if it was real. This is not an enormous emporium, but just a simple store like Microsoft, Apple, and/or The Source and stores of that nature.
